Jeans Leg Alterations

Product Description

We offer an alteration service to have your jeans leg length taken up if required. The measurement we require (in inches) is taken on the inner leg seam from the groin to the bottom of the leg. The best way is to turn your existing jeans inside out, fold them one leg on top of the other and measure the inner seam (see pic). Please note that if your jeans are altered, they are nonreturnable so please measure carefully, both leg length and waist. Allow 2-3 days for alteration before despatch.

Abrasion-Resistant Para-Aramid Fabric

Our ROADSKIN® protective jeans and hoodies are fully lined with abrasion resistant para-aramid fabric used by special forces, the police force and emergency services. Para-aramid is a technical term for brand names of high performance manmade fibres such as DuPont™ Kevlar®

Kevlar® is a well-known component of personal protective armour such as combat helmets and ballistic vests. The PASGT helmet and vest used by military forces since the 1980s both have Kevlar® as a key component, as do their replacements. Other military uses include bulletproof facemasks used by sentries and spall liners used to protect the crews of armoured fighting vehicles. Related civilian applications include Emergency Service’s protection gear if it involves high heat (e.g., tackling a fire), and Kevlar® body armour such as vests for police officers, security and special services.

DuPont™ and Kevlar® are registered trademarks of E.I.duPont de Nemours and Company and are used with permission.

Part Lined Jean statement

ROADSKIN® have conducted in house tests to simulate highway use, where the strength of the whole jean holding together was tested rather than certain individual patches.
Part lined jeans that are subject to the strength of the denim itself did not come up to our personal requirements.

The only designs that really held together was when the lining was all over the inside of the jean, ie Fully Lined.

We therefore will not make part lined garments, as although they do serve a purpose with easy riding and commuting around town, unfortunately most motorcyclists take no notice of warnings to ride appropriately in part lined jeans and insist on testing the limits of their garments that are providing limited protection.

Our opinion on even quality part lined jeans, is that they are like having a good lock on a soft wood door.

Hence, we no longer manufacture part lined garments.
